Design is life

Nicole Funke

Born and raised on a farm in rural Oregon, I decided at a young age that I wanted to run off to New York (thanks, Seinfeld) and be a fashion designer (thanks, Coco Chanel). Protective parents kept me on the West Coast where I attended an amazing Institute in Vancouver BC, getting to study under the late, great Couturier, Helen LeFeaux.

Upon returning to Oregon, this time to the biggest city I could find, Portland; I started in work creating garments, leather goods and prints & patterns for a variety of companies including: Tanner Goods, Adidas, Ginew, Chrome Industries, Victory, Tilly’s and, my home for the last 5 years, Pendleton.

I’m blessed to be able to create beautiful wool jacquards that are woven a stone’s throw from my home, as well as cotton prints, dobbies and plaids.

In my free time I collect vintage clothes, draft patterns and sew garments for myself. I also recently picked up the habit of re-weaving holes in wool sweaters and sewing whole garments by hand.
